Wallpapers I've Actually Used in my Home

When it comes to making a house feel like home, the details matter. Paint can set a mood, furniture can create comfort, but wallpaper? Wallpaper brings personality, texture, and character into a space. In my own home, I’ve leaned into wallpaper to make my home truly my own.
Why Wallpaper?
Wallpaper has made such a comeback in recent years. It’s no longer just about florals in your grandmother’s dining room (though I have a soft spot for those too!). Modern wallpaper offers endless options: bold patterns, subtle textures, and even murals. While I lean towards wallpaper with a chinoiserie pattern in my own home, I've also installed a beautiful floral mural and even a fun repeating banana pattern in a home belonging to another.
Where I’ve Used Wallpaper in My Home
I always want our home to be both functional and beautiful, and here are some of the wallpapers I've personally used and the rooms they can be found in.
Left to right and top to bottom:
- Kids Nursery Floral Pink Rose Pattern Wallpaper Mural by Wallmur - Used in my daughters room as a feature wall when they shared.
- Zen Garden White Toile (Discontinued) - Used in our mudroom.
- Nara Wallpaper by Scott Living - Used in our pantry which connects our kitchen and dining room.
- Fields Edge Floral Wallpaper in Antique Creme by Joules - Used in one of my children's closets.
- Bird and Blossom Chinoiserie Wallpaper by Ronald Redding (York Wallpapers) - Used in our master closet.
- Swedish Forest in Blue by Rebel Walls - Used in one of my children's rooms
- Spinney Toile in Light Grey by Brewster Home Fashions - Used in our powder room
- Sagano Anthracite Grey - Used in our master washroom water closet.
- Aroche Owl Wallpaper by Loon Peak - Used in a little nook in my home office.
Tips for Using Wallpaper in Your Own Home
- Start Small: If you’re hesitant, try an accent wall, closet, or powder room first.
- Think About What Feels Right to You: I'm a big beliver in your home being what you want it to be. Don't worry about trends, as long as you love it, it's all that matters.
- Don't be Afraid: Worst case you need to take the wallpaper down which in the bigger picture of life isn't that big of a deal!
Final Thoughts
Wallpaper has been a way for me to add both personality and practicality to our home. If you’ve been thinking about adding wallpaper to your home, just give it a try. Homes are meant to be live in and aren't meant to be perfect.
Until next time,
