What I’m Doing to Stay Grounded

This week, staying grounded hasn’t meant reinventing my life or waking up at 5 a.m. to “optimize” my routine. It’s been about small, manageable rituals that gently remind me I am, in fact, a person with a body and a home—not just a collection of thoughts moving from one task to the next.
Nothing dramatic. Nothing aesthetic for the sake of aesthetics. Just quiet resets that actually help.

Coffee
I'm a coffee woman through and through. Growing up, there was always a warm pot of coffee ready in the kitchen and still always is when I visit my parents. Not only is a warm cup of coffee a little nostolgic to me, holding something warm immediately calms my nervous system. The steam rising is a bonus. It feels grounding.
Planning
I plan everything. Every Sunday I review what's coming up and plan my week. It makes the days less overwhelming if I have a few goals to meet and know what's coming my way.
Mini Resets
I’m not doing a full clean. I’m doing a mini reset. Fluffing a pillow. Folding a blanket. Wiping a surface I’ve been aggressively ignoring. These tiny actions make my space feel more peaceful without spiraling into “I need to clean everything!!!”
Small moments
Moments this week has been slow and unstructured. Walking through my home, pausing by a window, stretching, and lighting candles. Just reminding my body and mind that they deserve to relax and enjoy themselves.
Fresh Fruit
I'm a lover of sweets, but too much sugar has started to make me feel gross. Fruit has started to become a go to when I'm craving something sweet. It's refreshing and calms down the sugar craving.
Good Books
Lately, I’ve been ending my days with a book that doesn’t demand too much from me, which feels important right now. Nothing stressful and nothing that makes me question my entire existence. Just a good, comforting read that lets my brain soften instead of spiral.
Ending the Day Early
Nothing feels as good as climbing into bed early. With my book of course.
Staying grounded sometimes means intentionally choosing small moments of calm. Letting myself rest without earning it, and remembering that sometimes the most grounding thing you can do is sit still and drink something warm.
If you’re feeling a little unanchored lately, this is your reminder that grounding doesn’t have to be serious or perfect. It can be soft and still work.
Until next time,
