Mornings at my house usually include a little bit of chaos, but I still try to steal five quiet minutes to myself while getting ready. My skincare routine is that tiny, grounding ritual I give myself before the day starts. It’s quick and feels like a small act of self-care to start the day. Here’s how I do it, step by step.

1. Cleanse

A gentle cleanse helps to wash away the sleep and start the day. I use lukewarm water and just enough cleaner to refresh without stripping. Pat your face dry with a towel (no rubbing).

2. Tone / Prep

A toner balances and preps the skin so serums absorb better. I press it into my skin and let it settle.

Currently using:  Zo Complexion Renewal Pads (These are amazing, but I'm currently shifting to Korean Skincare)

3. Vitamin C (Brightening)

Vitamin C gives my skin a brightening boost and helps with dark spots, which I'm always fighting. I apply a few drops, gently pat it in, and wait for it to sink in.

Currently using:  OOTD Dark Spot Vitamin C Serum

4. Hyaluronic Acid (Hydration)

I pat the hyaluronic acid into my skin with my hands and gnetly press to help it settle. It gives that plump, fresh feeling without heaviness.

Currently using:  Farmstay Hyaluronic Acid & Cherry Blossom Serum Purchased at Winners.

5. Niacinamide (Balance & Texture)

Next I apply niacinamide to help balance, tone, and calm any texture. I find it helps with my oily t-zone and layers nicely over vitamin C and hyaluronic acid.

6. Day Cream (Lock It In)

A nourishing day cream seals everything in and creates a soft, comfortable base for makeup or no-makeup days. I smooth it over my face and neck using upward motions.

7. Sunscreen (Non-Negotiable)

Sunscreen is the final and most important step. I apply a generous layer to face, neck, and ears—every single morning, even if it’s cloudy.

If I’m Really Short on Time

If five minutes turns into ninety seconds, I keep my morning skincare routine simple. Cleanse, niacinamide, day cream, and sunscreen. Still protective, still a quick moment to myself. This routine is less about perfection and more about that little pocket of calm I give myself before the day speeds up. It’s simple, repeatable, and it makes me feel ready.

What’s the one step you never skip in the morning? I’d love to hear! So please swap tips with me in the comments!

Until next time,

ree
