A lot of work has gone into planning and budgeting for the renovation projects around the house that will be happening in 2026. The projects have been intentionally chosen to provide a home that supports the life my family and I live. I cannot wait to start so here are the four projects we're slowly starting in both video and text format

1. Renovating the Closets

Our closets have reached the stage where things technically still fit, but not efficiently. We are working with California Closets for a functional makeover. Below are some of the renders received for one of the kids closet's being redone. They were truely so amazing to work with and I can't wait to see how it all comes together.

I just want spaces that make sense and the ability to find what I need without accidentally pulling out three unrelated sweaters. We've designed closets that feel calm instead of chaotic.

2. Adding a Bookcase in the Piano Room

The piano room is already one of my favorite spaces, but has also been used as a kind of storage room over the last few years. My children are consuming books like mad and also leaving them all over the place. The bookcase will help to keep the books in one place and I hope to also make it into a sort of family library. Which really means I'm hoping to turn the book situation in our house into a sign-out kind of agreement so my kids don't argue over who gets what book! Find a little bit of inspo below.

Along with functionality, I dream of this space making our home feel even more lived in and loved.

I want it to be a place where music and books coexist. Where you can sit, flip through pages, maybe play a few notes, and feel like you’re in a quiet little creative corner of the world. Cozy, thoughtful, and just a little romantic.

We're working with Hayden from Iconic Custom Carpentry who we've worked with before and are so happy to be working on this addition to our piano room.

3. Mini renovation of the Dining Room

The dining room is next on the list and just needs a bit of a glow-up. I want this room to have more depth, feel warmer, and be more inviting. We already use this space a lot for dinners, games, and puzzles so it'll be wonderful to reflect more of who our family is. I want this room to feel like a place you can linger with a cup of coffee and real conversations long after everything’s been cleared away.

In a way I have already started on this room as I've already removed a central piece of art and added an old photo of my dad and one of a friend and I when we were about 8.

4. Finally address the Master Bedroom

This final project is one that feels especially exciting. I've been unable to decide what to do in this space for years but have finally decided on something moody, cozy, and relaxing. This renovation will start with trim and paint and will bleed into 2027. New paint and trim might seem simple, but those little details change everything.

That's all for today, but before I go I want to thank you for being here and following along.

Until next time,
